I SURRENDER TO GOD!!

This is the first time I made a strong public statement declaring my love for our Lord.  It has been on my mind and I have wanted to do it for several months, but I kept putting it off until tomorrow ….  not one day more … for today, NO this hour, NO this moment is what my Lord has made and I am rejoicing in it!

Surrendering to anything or anyone is very unusual for a person like me, I feel so much better when I am in control of everything.  During a prayer breakfast held at church … over five months ago, I actually picked “self-control” as my spiritual fruit I wanted to focus on and grow.  I did improve, but spent so much time fighting off daily temptations in my life.   However, since I have personally surrendered everything to the Lord … I have had success.  Its funny how sometimes you have more control when you actually release your grip on things you can’t control by yourself.

The Lord has great plans for you, and wants you to surrender all your desires, all your worries and all your human understandings and just trust in Him only.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Here are some other great links to read and hopefully understand why surrendering is so important as you seek Jesus in your life.

Its these special features that make you - who you are, and there will never be anything more beautiful you!!

Carrie Prejean said in an interview after the Miss USA 2009 show … “I have no regrets about answering (judge) Perez Hilton honestly, He asked me for my opinion and I gave it to him. I have nothing against gay people and I didn’t mean to offend anyone in my answer.”

What happened after the Miss USA 2009 show ended is unbelievable. On (judge) Perez Hilton personal website, he posted a video slandering and calling Miss California a stupid B****. The day after Perez Hilton did try to apologize for calling Carrie Prejean a b**** but then a day later decided to retract that apologize. I’m proud of Carrie Prejean for standing by her beliefs, costing her the crown!! I hope these videos clearly show the difference between a person acting with respect and love vs someone JUDGING and speaking with HATE in their heart!

Where does Donald Trump find the judges for Miss USA? Does judging and pointing out every wrong with a celebrity make you a good impartial JUDGE for Miss USA? Will Donald Trump step up and publicly apologize for picking a judge like Perez Hilton? Will they change how Miss USA contestants are scored so something like this doesn’t happen again?

12-year-old speaks out on the issue of abortion

This video is packed full of great questions about abortion and the facts to answer those questions. I love the passion in her voice and you can really see it in her eyes. God bless this young girl for sharing the honest facts about abortion!

I pray that you read everything here with an open heart.  This discussion isn’t to judge or offend anyone, instead push people to think and ask the big  question What if…?.

Here are the questions:

Do you ….

believe in Jesus? (death for all sin, resurrection from death)

have a routine when it comes to church? (where you sit, what time you show up, what people you talk to at church, etc)

go to church feeling obligated? (by parents, by children, by the pastor, by other church members)

pray outside of church? (spend time calling out to the Lord, thanking or asking about anything)

volunteer any time at the church? (choir, usher, scripture reader, Sunday school teacher, etc)

leave church feeling full and energized? (happy, thankful, wanting to grow and learn more, etc)

What if we….

push ourself to reach people in need?

place God first in all our daily activities?

decide to do everything in the name of Jesus Christ?

show His love instead of only talking about it?

have open discussions about Jesus with our family and friends? (Christians and non-believers)

WHAT IF WE … get so excited about Christianity and remove the OFF SWITCH in our life?  I can promise you that by strengthening and growing each other, our efforts will be rewarded as both individuals and our society.  I’m not asking you to LEAVE your comfort zone, I’m asking you to EXPAND your comfort zone to including sharing the salvation.  If you plant the seed in a persons heart, God will make it grow.

Start expanding and planting your seeds today.  Come back and share with us the rewards you have seen or felt through your effort.

Best Wishes,

Curlee

When I say, “I am a Christian”

by Carol Wimmer

When I say, “I am a Christian”

I’m not shouting, “I’ve been saved!”
I’m whispering, “I get lost!
That’s why I chose this way”.

When I say, “I am a Christian”

I don’t speak with human pride
I’m confessing that I stumble -
Needing God to be my guide

When I say, “I am a Christian”

I’m not trying to be strong
I’m professing that I’m weak
And pray for strength to carry on.

When I say, “I am a Christian”

I’m not bragging of success
I’m admitting that I’ve failed
And cannot ever pay the debt.

When I say, “I am a Christian”

I don’t think I know it all
I submit to my confusion
Asking humbly to be taught.

When I say, “I am a Christian”

I’m not claiming to be perfect
My flaws are all too visible
But God believes I’m worth it.

When I say, “I am a Christian”

I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartache,
Which is why I seek His name.

When I say, “I am a Christian”

I do not wish to judge
I have no authority…

I only know I’m loved

I found this poem at thoughts-about-god.com.

This poem helped me understand why people change there attitude when I bring up the fact that I am a Christian.  Some people shut down and others get angry and walk off.  However, if you read the poem, they are hearing us bragging or judging, instead we are crying out our weaknesses and humbly thanking God for covering those weaknesses.

The last line “I only know I’m loved” explains it all.  Its hard for many to believe the fact that our heavenly father exist and gives each of His children unconditional love, but once you actually feel His love surround you, you will want to share it with others by saying “I AM A CHRISTIAN!!”.
